The bulls will be running in Five Points on Sunday, August 21, but don’t worry, no need to practice your sprinting or scramble for cover, since it’s Red Bull that will taking over a portion of the Eastside for a night of music and mixology.

Red Bull Unlocked is the new, traveling event featuring live music, DJ sets, dancing, and performance. Making its first U.S. stop in East Nashville, it’s a block party that combines venerable Eastside locations with pop-ups by some of Nashville’s most popular bars and restaurants.

Forrest Avenue restaurant and bar, Rosemary & Beauty Queen, and Five Points’ unofficial live music headquarters, the Purple Building, will serve as the neighborhood anchors for pop-ups from The Dive Motel, Lipstick Lounge, Pearl Diver, Play Dance Bar, The Stage, Tin Roof, and White Limozeen, along with a preview of the “coming soon” bar and eatery, Eleven Eleven.

At the center of the live music is the popular Whiskey Jam that’s been showcasing the best of Nashville talent for seven years at its Midtown location. This special Sunday night Eastside version of the Jam will feature Dozzi, Willie Shaw, and Johnny Hayes. Other performers slated to appear at the various pop-up venues include: Daisha/Rap Girl; A.B. Eastwood; the Boom Bap DJ Collective featuring DJ-Rate and Case Bloom; DJ Griffin Green; a DJ set from Old Crow Medicine Show’s Jerry Pentecost; DJ Stretch, the Whiskey Disco DJ Collective featuring Coach and Jim O’Shea; and The Play Mates, a drag show featuring Sasha, Vanity, Deception, Aura Mayari, Corlis Todd, and Carmin Triple C. Also on tap is a preview performance of the original theatrical concept show soon to be featured at the downtown Woolworth Theatre.

Red Bull Unlocked is set for Sunday, August 21 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at 1102 Forrest Ave. More info and advance tickets are available at eventbrite. This is a 21 and up event.
