The Porch Writers’ Collective presents an evening with Mary Karr and Rodney Crowell
The Porch Writers’ Collective, “Nashville independent center for writing.” is hosting their second annual fundraiser this Saturday with a program featuring bestselling memoirist and songwriter Mary Karr and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Rodney Crowell.
"Kinship: An Evening with Mary Karr and Rodney Crowell" will feature top-notch food, drink, music and stories, with the proceeds benefiting The Porch Writers’ Collective mission of inspiring, educating, and connecting local writers of all ages through classes, youth outreach programs, and literary events.
Mary Karr is an award-winning poet, essayist, songwriter and the author of The Liars’ Club, Cherry, Lit: A Memoir and her latest book, The Art of Memoir. Her first album, Kin, was released in 2012 and features songs she co-wrote with Rodney Crowell. Crowell is a multi-Grammy winning singer, songwriter and producer, a Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member, and recipient of the 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award for Songwriting from the Americana Music Association. He is also the author of a critically acclaimed memoir, Chinaberry Sidewalks.
“Kinship” is this Saturday, February 6 at the Green Door Gourmet, 7011 River Road Pike, Nashville.
