A reality we must accept: Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin are not gonna come to Nashville and share a bill.
A reality we can enjoy: On Saturday, August 22, we’re getting as close to that as anyone ever will.
Ascend Amphitheater welcomes The Australian Pink Floyd Show, whose name makes their approach pretty clear. They’ve been paying tribute to the Floyd since the late ’80s, touring the world, playing major festivals and, NBD, having David Gilmour invite them to perform at his 50th birthday party. (Hard to get a more convincing vote of confidence.)
They’ll be joined by Led Zeppelin 2, a Chicago-based Zeppelin tribute act that, according to Metallica guitarist and noted Zeppelin obsessive Kirk Hammett, “sounds (effing) exactly like Led Zeppelin.”
We’re overjoyed to get to send an East Nashvillian reader, +1, to enjoy the arena-rock grandeur. Enter through the form below — we’ll choose and announce a random winner Friday afternoon.
