Many of us at East Nashvillian HQ are taking the rest of the week to celebrate the season, enjoy some time with family and take down a glass of nog or three. Thus, our traditional weekly news column won’t be popping up.
In lieu of a news column, though, we thought we’d provide our Internet friends with something that may or may not be sorely needed: some options for getting the H out of the house on Friday.
If, say, one too many incidents of, “So you’re still single?” or, “When are you having kids?” or, “Did you gain some weight?” have you in a froth-y festive rage — or if you’re just bored — these neighborhood haunts will welcome you in, put a drink in your hand and wish you a Merry Christmas.
1024 Woodland Street
Ready to serve you a Christmas Bushwacker at 5 Points, opening up at 6 p.m. Drive-thru’s closed though. (Yep, still driving that joke into the ground.)
112 S 11th Street
Our neighborhood sports bar will open up at 5.
1000 Main Street
Regular hours (“noon til 3 a.m. every single day!") for this hub of drinks and sandwiches, celebrating its first Christmas this year. They grow up so fast!
2511 Gallatin Road
Opening on Christmas day at 7 p.m., with free pool, new dartboards to play with (Santa probably brought ’em) and drink specials.
2907 Gallatin Pike
Regular hours (5 p.m. to 3 a.m.) at one of 37216’s finest dives, where you can wash down Christmas dinner with a fried bologna sandwich.
1115 Porter Road
They’ll be serving their regular menu of French- and Italian-inspired dishes (one pictured up top), 5 to 10 p.m., and as this went up, the room was already half spoken for, so you’ll probably want to book a reservation: 615-679-9294.
Drink and be merry on Christmas Day, with our most heartfelt wishes for the most feliz of Navidads. (Did we miss your open dining room/taps? Let us know!)
