After an initial party-rain-out the previous week, the East Nashville Farmers Market celebrated the opening of its 2014 season on May 21, in its new, much more expansive location at Shelby Park.
From local produce to local honey, bread, ice cream and lemonade, the 2014 Market's certainly already stocked with stuff, and with slightly expanded hours (they're now open Wednesdays from 3:30 to 7 p.m.) and the space to stretch at Shelby Park, eating local's pretty easy (and that much more enjoyable) these days.
True to ENFM tradition, the season opener included all those merchants, plus face painting, live music, farm animal-petting and lots more. Here, a few captures of the sunny celebration -- click a thumbnail to open up the gallery.
The Market returns each Wednesday through the fall at Shelby Park near the baseball diamond. Keep up with those folks week to week via the East Nashville Farmers Market Facebook page.
